i returned from the well to discover the LRA had arrived at the main base to pick up the families of the commanders. It was the first time I had seen a 'rebel.' I turned to mathew green - a british writer who'd been twice before to meet otti - and said, 'oh, they're here!' i was grateful he'd noticed my shock.
